The amazing orangutan

 

This week we have been learning about orangutans they are going extinct because of palm oil plantations we are taking out the trees that orangutans live in people are killing the orangutan for meat and food and taking away the baby orangutans and selling them on the black market. For the site, we used canva and how we can save the orangutan are by not buying products with palm oil like chocolate and shampoo.

The amazing learning of angles

For numeracy today, we have started to learn about angles.  

We learnt about 3 different angles today - acute (less than 90°), right angle (90°), and obtuse (larger than 90° but smaller than 180°).  We also learned how to use a protractor to measure angles.  We know that we need to measure an angle from a vertice (a corner where two straight lines meet).

For our create task, we had to measure three different angles on the first letter of our name - can you  figure out if they are acute, right angle or obtuse?

For the past month we have been learning about the Gallipoli Landing last week before Easter when did Te Papa Gallipoli war museum and now we had to make a canva about what they eat  and facts about the Gallipoli war so i hope you enjoy my presentation

Weather in Maori

 

For the past 5 to 6 week we have been make a scratch on Maori weather and how to say the weather.

It was fun and same of the part's was hard to do. Have you ever used seratch? So the word i used wera it is hot in maori  so we learn how to say the weather in Maori to help us understand more words in Maori.  

The adventure Mahmoud

 For literacy we have been reading Refugee by Alan Gratz.   We looked at the main character, and picked 3 words to describe them.  I picked Brave.

For our create task, we had to use Storyboard that, and pick one of our describing words to storyboard.  We needed to think about what happened just before that scene, and just after and how we could show emotion in our characters face.

I decided to show how there home was bomed .  I showed this by showing how his city got bomed he was Brave at showing him help his frinds.

In literacy at the moment we are learning about WW1 and in particular, the role the ANZACS played in it.

We know that the ANZACS landed at ANZAC cove on April 25th, 1915.  They arrived by boat, and were greeted by a beach that was in chaos, steep, rugged cliffs and the Turks firing at them from the top of the cliffs.

Many men lost their lives that day, many never made it to the beach.  The ones that did were about to start a long journey filled with tears, despair and sadness.

Minecraft Education Refugee Camp

Over the past three weeks in literacy, we have been reading about refugees and looking at what refugee camps look like.  

Do you know that there are millions of refugees currently living in refugee camps all over the world.  These people have had to flee their home countries due to war, unrest, famine, riots, terrorist attacks and more.  Some have been living in these camps for years, with no sign of leaving.

The conditions are terrible.  There are lots of disease, crowded living areas, they are hot in summer and freezing in winter.

Our task was to recreate a refugee camp in Minecraft education, incorporating all the things we had learnt about them.
